3. THE MONTESSORI ROOM

The Montessori Room is a group of 4 mothers and educators with a vision for a more ‘accessible’ Montessori. That’s why their goal is to help more families bring Montessori into their homes, through simple materials, toys, and education, without the pressure to do it all perfectly. Every item you will find in their store is handmade in Canada or carefully selected according to these important principles: natural materials, beautifully made, ethically made, in small quantity, made locally in Canada (except when it was impossible to find it here).

6. The Urban Nursery

Bekki and Selen became fast friends in prenatal class. The high energy duo spent their maternity leave exploring motherhood and the city of Toronto with their babies and dreamed up a brand that makes fashion-forward baby clothing from premium quality fabrics. Their shared aesthetic and appreciation for design led to the creation of The Urban Nursery’s modern and playful look. Now, each with two babies and with the support of their families, they run a business they are proud of, making organic and eco friendly baby clothing that’s ethically manufactured in Canada.

8. The Little Cowl Co.

The Little Cowl Company started with a little dream and a big passion. Jordana learned to knit on the beaches of Mexico, trying to honour the memory of her late grandmother who tried to teach her so many years ago. She loves knitting so much that “The Little Cowl Company” was born!

Specializing in cowls (also known as neckwarmers), she use a variety of fibres and patterns to create unique, warm, stylish and comfortable cowls. All cowls are made to order, and can be customized to suit your tastes and needs.Contact thelittlecowlcompany@gmail.com for a full list of cowl designs offered, material description, colour chart and order forms!

11. Little Buck

We’re a simple, small town married couple who have enjoyed doing everything together for the last 10 years. Little Buck is no different. We work very hard side by side on every aspect of our snapbacks, ensuring the best product for your little ones.

Our little man was born premature at 32 weeks and after a month long stay in the hospital he was finally able to come home to us. Being born only 3 lbs, it was difficult to find anything which fit him properly, especially anything stylish. This is where the idea of “Little Buck” snapbacks was born. A fashionable baby hat!

12. O & Lo

We’re based in Toronto and are proudly Canadian. We make a concerted effort to find the very best baby and toddler products AND we do everything we possibly can to support and sell Canadian Brands. Our “Canadian” collection includes a range of brands that have Canadian origin stories, are designed or made in Canada, or are Canadian owned. And, we’re always trying to find more.

13. Cassidy Tsang

I came across Cassidy on Instagram and I love her approach on art with kids. Here is her bio, so you can learn more about her and make sure to check out her shop for a ton of fun art supplies and classes to purchase:

I spend my days teaching parents how to explore art with their little ones through playing with materials they can find at home. With about 10 years of experience as an artist, educator, and recently became a mama, I take my knowledge as well as daily reflection and blend all skills into a unique approach to creative parenting.

My specific framework takes parents and young children from struggling to complete a well-planned art activity to becoming a calm and self-inspired family so that when the baby is proud, mama and daddy are proud too!
